Most people typically sleep on their sides, but do you know which side is best for you? Interestingly enough, your left side is actually the better side to sleep on.
And here’s the reasons why.
1. It’ll help you filter toxins.
When you sleep on your left side, your body has more time to filter toxins. The left side of your body is the dominant lymphatic side. Sleeping on your left side can also help get rid of waste materials from your brain.
2. It improves your digestion.
Sleeping on your left side allows your body to quickly extract nutrients and dispose of toxins. It’s easier for food to move from the large intestine into the descending colon.
3. It’s good for your baby.
When you’re pregnant, sleeping on your left side sends nutrients to your placenta and your baby. It takes the pressure away from your back, and prevents the uterus from squeezing the liver.

Your stomach lies to the left of your body, and sleeping on that side helps reduce acid reflux symptoms quickly! If after you eat you have heartburn, try laying down on your left side for a few minutes and you should be feeling better in no time.
