Mauco Abeiro, is truly is an angel of a young lad. He is a 9-year-old from Guaymallen, Argentina and doesn’t have a lot of material possessions. But what he does have is the one thing he loves a lot, his skateboard.
While Mauco and his younger brother were playing on the streets near his house, they came upon an injured dog. It looked as though he had a broken leg and Mauco wanted to help. He decided to carry the dog home and named him Rocco.
Mauco knew that when he brought the dog home, his mother would object because they couldn’t afford one.
Mauco wanted to keep the dog so he devised a plan. He asked his mother to let him use her Facebook to sell his skateboard. Whatever money he raised he would put towards paying the vet to fix Rocco’s leg. He wrote, “Hi, I’m Mauco, son of Laura. She allowed me to borrow her Facebook because I don’t have one. Look at the puppy I found on the street. It’s sick and has a broken leg. We gave him food and a bath but it needs medicine. I’m selling my skateboard to take him to the vet. If anyone is interested in the skateboard, leave your number here and my mom will call you back. Thanks, Mauco.”
He was willing to make the ultimate sacrifice even if the skateboard was one of Mauco’s most treasured possessions.
Unfortunately, there wasn’t much interest in buying Mauco’s skateboard, but people started sharing the post and it went viral within a matter of days.
People were more than to provide the monetary means to help Rocco get the help he so desperately needed. After all that, Mauco didn’t have to sell his skateboard. Rocco is now a part of the family and is on a journey towards a slow, but steady recovery.
