Frankly, it’s hard to find a person who likes cleaning the kitchen. Here are some easy ways to clean even the hardest appliance in your kitchen.
1. Washing the blender easily.
The simplest way to wash the blender shaft after cooking is to fill it with warm water and add a few drops of detergent. Then, push the “on” button and hold it for 20 seconds. Rinse in running water and forget all about rubbing off stuck food remains.
2. Washing the microwave.
Surprisingly, you can make your microwave oven shiny with a couple of… wet wipes. Take 5-7 wipes or towels and high-heat them in the microwave for 3-5 minutes. The steam off the wipes will soften the dirt, and after they cool down you could use them to wipe the stains out!
3. Getting rid of unpleasant smells from the microwave.
The oven is now perfectly clean, but what’s to be done about the smell? Pour a glass of water, add 1/2 glass of lemon juice, and high-heat the mix in the microwave for 3-5 minutes. Let it stay there for another 10 minutes after switching off the oven, and the unpleasant smells are no more.
4. Giving a second chance to an old coffee pot.
Don’t be in a hurry to dump your old, stained coffee pot just because it’s dirty. In fact, they are very easy to wash off. All you need to do is fill a quarter of it with ice, then cut a lemon into four parts and squeeze them in. Add 2 tablespoons of salt and stir for 2 minutes. After that, you will only have to rinse the coffee pot under the tap and notice how easy it was to get rid of those old stains.
5. Washing off a cast-iron frying pan.
To dispose of soot on a cast-iron frying pan, don’t use liquid detergents or abrasive scrubs. Use a paper towel to rub salt in the pan and then wash it off thoroughly. To finish, restore the anti-stick cover by dropping a little vegetable oil on it.
6. Coffee-grinder trick
Most experts advise to not use your coffee grinder with spices, as the resulting essential oils will stick to your coffee afterwards. If that is the case with your grinder, stay cool. The smell can be disposed of with a few grains of raw rice ground in the device.
7. Cleaning the cheese grater
Tired of cheese getting stuck on and inside the grate? You can easily clean it off with a simple paint brush, its coarse hairs will get rid of the cheese and any other sticky food with a perfect result. This works with both sides of the grate.
8. Washing the trash can
The old trash can that served you for many years may also need some attention. For deep cleaning and deodorization, fill it with crushed ice cubes made of half water, half vinegar. When the ice melts, rinse the can under the tap.
9. Getting rid of coffee stains on china.
Your favorite china set will be as good as new if you thoroughly rub a 1:1 mix of vinegar and salt onto the stains of coffee on it.
