When 10-year-old Leon Ashworth was shopping with his mom, he fell in love with a stuffed panda bear. But when it was time to check out, his mom, Debbie, told him to put it back because she couldn’t afford it that day. But she assured her son she would come back and get it for him when she got paid again.
So this clever boy put his new buddy “Pandy” back on the shelf, inside a box, where he scribbled a note to other shoppers. “My mom didn’t have enough money to buy me Pandy, so she’s buying me Pandy on June 15, so please don’t buy him as it will make me sad and I will cry. Thank you so much from hopeful future owner.”
And when staff at the store found the note, they pooled their money to buy Pandy for Leon and tracked his mom down on Facebook with the good news. Now the boy has his bear, and all is right in his world. As they left the store, he told his mom it was the best day of his life!
