I was in line at the gas station to get some gas and minding my own business.
A young lady standing in front of me was taking forever to complete her transaction. I overheard the cashier tell her that both of the credit cards she provided were denied. The young woman insisted that there had to be something wrong with the machine.
When she turned to walk away, I had a smile on my face. She got so mad at me and asked me why the f*** I was smiling. I told her to mind her language and that it’s important to always be in good spirits.
I looked at the cashier and asked what pump number the young lady was on. He said, “Pump number two, why?” And I replied by asking whether I could put $20 on pump number two for her.
He asked me If I was serious, pointing out that she had been very rude to me. Another guy behind me told the cashier to go ahead and fill it up. Together, we both went half on her gas.
When we walked outside to tell her about the gas, this lady apologized for so many times whiles crying her eyes out. She went inside her truck to show us her new hire paperwork.
She says she starts work on Monday, so she needed gas for the week until she got paid.
Lord, thank you for reminding me of all the reasons why I should keep a smile on my face. That goes to show you we never know what a person is going through and we all have a purpose on this Earth!
