World’s Oldest Cat Turns A Remarkable 31 Years Old And Has Many More Lives Ahead

Nutmeg, a tabby kittie, is a contender to be the world’s oldest cat.  He just celebrated his 31st birthday! He chose his humans by showing up in their backyard over 26 years ago. ”He rules the house and he’s absolutely gorgeous,” Nutmeg’s humans said.

Nutmeg’s loving owners Liz and Ian Finlay rescued him in 1990 after he befriended their cat Spice. When they brought the kittie to their local Cats Protection to treat Nutmeg’s abscess on the neck, they were told he was about least 5 years old, making Nutmeg the oldest cat in the world.

However, to Guinness Records, the owners would have to show the documents proving his age.

Nutmeg suffered a very serious stroke last year, but now he is much stronger, making those around wonder how many lives this cat has. “He is not our cat, we are his humans and he never lets us forget that. Maybe that is the secret to his long and happy life.”

Nutmeg, is ‘unofficially’ the world’s oldest cat, has just celebrated his 31st birthday (141 in human years)

“He rules the house and he’s absolutely gorgeous”

The Finlays rescued Nutmeg in 1990 as a stray who befriended their own cat

The owners were told he was already at least 5 years old when they got him

To apply for the Guinness World Record, The Finlays need to show official documents

Nutmeg is a senior cat indeed, but the Finlays adore him

“He is spoilt rotten… He comes in every morning at five am and we get up and feed him”

Last year Nutmeg suffered from a serious stroke…

… making us wonder: how many lives does this cat have?
